It was not a mistake or waste of time to contact Risch, Crappo and Simpson. Prior to their official announcements yesterday, you would have received an email reply with non-committal politician speak that did not come out and say they were against the public land sell-off. I think that the public pressure from their constituents either helped shape their views or gave them enough confidence to announce their opposition which goes against the current administration's goal of transferring as much wealth and power away from the working class American as possible.

I agree that we should also contact the 3 other members who have more to do with pushing this bullshit through. Thank you for sharing their contact information.

Excellent point. Risch and Simpson were against this before yesterday. I just pulled the most recent quotes. Crapo was a bit late to the the right side, so probably all the mail he has gotten helped him get on sides. THANKS.

Yeah Kyle, I saw this assault on our public lands by the fascist oligarchs coming and have been calling Crapo's office in Twin since March, though I appreciate Perry doing the research and flexing his influence. You are accurate in defining the position of Idaho's Congressional Delegation regarding sale of and private ownership of our precious public lands as oblique at best until very recently. These failed extremist MAGA Republican career politicians have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt they CANNOT be trusted, selling their political party (R) to the fascist oligarchs pursuing an authoritarian agenda using cult leader "dirty donnie" as a catalyst to destroy our democracy.

For Idaho's Congressional Delegation to so blindly fall in line with such an obvioulsy corrupt and incompetent Executive and vote to confirm a totally inexperienced and entirely unqualified freak-show Cabinet confirms they are all of shameful low moral character only interested in perpetuating the rapidly diminishing power of the right as a consequence of the inevitable demographic shift taking place in the new millennium. Why states are suppressing voter rights' while the fascist oligarchs are intent on destroying democracy to perpetuate half a century of the conservative corruption of the politcal economy, "trickle-down" just a tired euphemism for "fascism." For decades our Constitutional Republic has been about nothing other than the aggressive upward redistribution of wealth, creating mountains of lightly taxed unearned investment wealth for the billionaire class and economic aristocracy

The Republican Monolith in Congress has laid down for all of "dirty donnie's" policy disasters the DOGE elimination of government fraud, waste, and abuse promises to cost in the hundreds of billions, the proposed tax cuts in the BIG PIGGY BILL for corporations and the very wealthiest Americans (which they are not) now estimated to cost $3.5 trillion, while Crapo's website has continued to scroll the interest on the debt for years like he really cares, sending me letters in response to my calling out his hypocrisy and rigid fealty to the fascist oligarchs, insisting their massive windfall proposed in this BIG PIGGY BILL will somehow benefit working Americans, insignificant better defining yet another of the endless lies from the right.

Please folks listen to Perry, call out these extremist MAGA Republicans on every issue you find disturbing. Be relentless, don't allow them any peace as they are at war against our democracy, and soon maybe another war for profit in the Middle East.

If this thing does pass.....It is my understanding that local governments will be given the first right of refusal. If that is correct, then our commissioners should be ready and able to acquire the land, ensuring local control. If that is not the case, or we cannot acquire the land, the commissioners could regulate any development ideas out of existence. Thank goodness for the mountain overlay hillside ordinance. I am pressed to think of any public land that is not in the red avalanche zone.

It is so ridiculous that the average sale price is about $3,000 per acre and that the .5% that will go to local communities amounts to about $15 per acre. This whole thing is disgusting.

Perry, thank you for your continued dedication for this beautiful area. We need more interested people like you. And. thank you for making this essential task so simple. I hope everyone sends emails to these Senators and I agree, that sending duplicate emails to Risch, Crappo and Simpson would not be a waste of time....they need to know our thoughts and that they are on the right side of this.

Good on ya, Perry, for providing the map which says it all. It is one thing to sell off federal properties in and around the cities, especially those which are not being used, but it is quite another to be robbing future generations of access to our great outdoors. Good work!

Bill, why yield PL surrounding the cities, thereby enabling more sprawl? Can't imagine you'd cave and trash Lake Creek, Trail Creek , Adam's Gultch, Cory Canyon, Deer Creek, et,al.? The list is endless.
