Assuming for the moment that your facts and figures are all accurate, my sense is that your message would be more powerful if you were to tone down the personal rhetoric.....or better yet, run for office!

I appreciate the feedback. That was toned down. You should have read the first draft. It's hard to be neutral, given the dramatic impact of what they are doing. As for running for office, the election is next year, so we have bit of time before we need to make those decisions. What we really need is a competent person who understands good governance to run for Mayor.

Perhaps the tone is a result of raising mostly legitimate points and being constantly ignored by this City Council?

I think there's a typo here? "Over 50 qualified BCHA waitlist people have said no. The developer wants to open it up to people on the BCHA waitlist. But BCHA has said no. The unit remains empty."

Has anyone asked the people on the waitlist why they don't want the units that are available?

Can someone explain how is it a good idea for people who work in Hailey to commute from Ketchum? More people on the roads and not solving Ketchum's problem. I'm open-minded so if someone can make a case, please do. Maybe a person who wants to live near the skiing will take a part time job in Hailey, and that helps those who live in Ketchum since many of us shop in Hailey?

No typo.

Over 70 people on the waitlist would not take one of the units at 1st and 4th after weeks of it sitting empty.

There is a deed restricted unit in SV for sale that has been empty for months and 39 people on the waitlist rejected it.

The wait list is garbage and we should not be using it to make policy. Yet it was a major driver of the council support for Bluebird.

BCHA is not serving the needs of the community. It is pursuing its own agenda. BCHA spends a lot on consultants but never surveys employers or employees about housing. Why is that? Watch the meetings on their website. It’s not worth attending in person because the public is not allowed to speak.

I enjoy your newsletters. With regard to local hotels none are corporate owned; for example the Fairfield Inn by Marriott is only franchised with Marriott and the ownership is from Twin Falls. The Best Western Plus Kentwood is licensed with BW and is owned locally by Cindy Forgeron. A little deeper research will keep your credibility high. Best regards,

Perry, you have more than enough facts to support a strong position for change. It also appears, we have enough residents to enact a change as opposed to hoping the leaders are reading this blog and will alter their course.

I think we all know by what has happened in the past 6 years, that Bradshaw will continue his agenda while sending out a Ketchum blog saying he welcomes feedback. Therefore, what can we do before the next election? Is a recall no longer in play?

For tactical reasons, I think we need to a large group together and agree on a set of next steps that will ensure an outcome that we can live with. We could pick a place and have different time slots once we know what we can and agree to do. One thing is for sure. Every resident must vote.

I guess we also need a candidate.

I agree with your thoughts and proposed a recall petition six months ago. There appeared to be no real support for that approach, it was more of a "wait until the next election" attitude. The problem with waiting is that the majority of the damage to Ketchum will have already occurred or more building permits issued that cannot be reversed. This City Council has won and the Ketchum has lost!
